Orange France has launched a 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA service called 3G+ for business customers in the city of Lyon. They will have downlink speeds up to 7.2 Mbit/s and uplink speeds up to 1.4 Mbit/s, thanks to high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) and high-speed uplink packet access (HSUPA), respectively.

The operator said other major cities and towns will be upgraded to the 3G+ service and that 71 percent of the population will be covered by the 7.2 Mbit/s network by the end of this year
